Hiring Remote Proctors

SORRY - HIRING FOR THIS POSITION IS NOW CLOSED.

To support the University’s decision to shift to remote exams so students can leave campus early, we anticipate a need for remote proctors to observe students completing timed final exams on Zoom. If you are available to work as a remote proctor this week, please send an email to AskPoorvuCenter@yale.edu. Here are requirements and additional details about the role.

  • All observations will be conducted using Zoom.
  • Remote proctors can be faculty members or graduate or professional school students.
  • Compensation for graduate and professional school students is $15 per hour.
  • Remote proctors must comply with University policies governing confidentiality, academic integrity, and Title IX regulations.
  • Successful remote proctors will have experience managing Zoom meetings as the Host.
  • Remote proctors must be organized and detail-oriented. Specific subject matter expertise is not necessary.
  • Remote proctors are responsible for finding out the specific exam procedures implemented by the instructor and reviewing them with the students prior to starting the exam.
  • Remote proctors must carefully observe the students to identify any potential violations of exam procedures or other behaviors by students that require review. The remote proctor then must inform the instructor of these observations.

Please email AskPoorvuCenter@yale.edu if you have additional questions about the remote proctor role.
