The Poorvu Center created the following video tutorial in response to a recommendation made by the Yale Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The tutorial outlines what an introduction video might include for fall 2020 courses. Faculty can use a number of tools and software programs to record their messages. We have developed instructions for recording a Course Introduction Video using Panopto, Zoom, or a phone. After completing the short form below, the Poorvu Center will help you upload your completed video to your Canvas course site and ensure that all Yale students can view the video, regardless of enrollment status in your course (similar to shopping period).

The Poorvu Center is arranging to have all Canvas introduction videos professionally captioned, to make course selection as accessible as possible to all students. While we will make an effort to identify and caption every introduction video that is embedded on a Canvas syllabus page, you may also notify us when your video is ready for captioning by using the form below.
